Description

Mr. Mick Pinot Grigio follows the core philosophy of our range of wines, quite simply an ‘easy-going’ wine that creates interest and satisfies many palates.

The 2024 vintage is one of the most exciting releases of our Mr. Mick Pinot Grigio, with the wine showing lifted aromas of green mango, nashi pear and pineapple with an underlay herbal touch of fresh sage. Like most Italian varieties, Mr. Mick Pinot Grigio is a versatile variety and therefore is also suited to a broad array of cuisine.

The palate shows more stone fruit richness in perfect balance with a fresh and lengthy acidity. A classic Italian style!

Winemaking Notes

Bottled as soon as possible and under screwcap to retain all the fresh and delicate aromas.

Growing Conditions

The climate and soils of South Australia enable us to produce Pinot Grigio very similar to the grape’s origin in northern Italy. Fruit was harvested at peak flavour maturity from the family-owned vineyard in the Riverland, the juice separated from skins, cold settled and fermented for 14 days. A steady and cool ferment ensures the maximum expression of the varietal character of Pinot Grigio.

Food Pairing

This wine can be enjoyed on its own or with a wide range of food, particularly spicy dishes or seafood.

Fans of the style rejoice: plenty of aromatic varietal action with pear slices, soft peach flesh and rocket greenery. Some intrigue with a little white cherry and white part of the watermelon rind. Pleasant and crisp, rich with pear and a zesty nature. Does what it says in the label with aplomb and balance.

Impressive quaffer
Mr Mick 2021 Pinot Grigio
Winemaking veteran Tim Adams is one of the stars of the Clare Valley, but he sources fruit from the Limestone Coast for his Mr Mick Pinot Grigio, a lively young wine full of the joys of the changing seasons. Think fresh pear and peach flavours, lively refreshing acid, and plenty of fun pre-dinner, or with food. Mr Mick, by the way, was Adams’ late mentor Mick Knappstein. This is a stellar bargain for $18.
