Winemakers Tim Adams and Brett Schutz continue the Mr. Mick philosophy of making affordable wines for everyone to enjoy. In its 10th year the 2020 Mr. Mick Rosé continues to epitomize this philosophy with its alluring lifted aromas and flavours of strawberries and cream with hints of lychee and white peach to follow. Soft fruit lingers on the palate before a cleansing, long finish. It’s a wine that leaves you wanting another glass. spice.
Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Grenache was crushed, chilled and held cold soaking separately in the press in order to extract vibrant red berry flavours from the skins. The juices were cold settled and fermented separately prior to careful blending, stabilisation, clarification and bottling. Very slight residual sweetness remains in order to enhance the natural fruit characters.
This wine can be enjoyed on its own or it makes a great accompaniment to Asian cuisine and dishes with a little spice.

“The Clare Valley was free of bushfires and smoke taint, but 2020 grape tonnages from the Tim Adams vineyards were 10% below 2019 because the lead up to the harvest was the driest since 2006. Despite this Tim has given us good-value $17MrMick 2020 riesling and pinot grigio whites and this refreshing grenache-sangiovese-tempranillo rose. The Mr Mick brand honours Mick Knappstein, Tim’s mentor at the Leasingham winery, and the rose has 11.5% alcohol, pale salmon pink hues and rose petal scents. The front palate shows crisp strawberry flavour, the middle blueberry, cherry and sherbet characters and a flinty acid finish. Available at mrmick.com.au, the Mr Mick cellar door at 7 Dominic Street, Clare, and bottle shops. Drink now with salad nicoise”.
